Rutland CAP Squadron to Host Open House

The Civil Air Patrol’s Rutland Squadron will be hosting an Open House on Thursday April 17th from 6pm to 8pm at the squadron headquarters at the Rutland Airport.  Members will be on hand to showcase the cadet program for youth 12-18 as well as the program for adult volunteers.  There will be information and activities related to aerospace education and flying, emergency services, leadership, physical fitness, and special activities. 

The public is invited to come and learn about the Civil Air Patrol and its mission to support America’s communities with emergency response, diverse aviation and ground services, youth development and promotion of air, space and cyber power through aerospace education.  Contact jlarson@vtwg.cap.gov with any questions or visit their website at Rutland.CAP.gov

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
