The N.C. Department of Transportation’s Division of Aviation is welcoming five new partners to its BEYOND team, working to test and demonstrate how to usher in the widespread use of drones for government and commercial use.
The five new companies are:
Aerial Vantage – Flight operator and service provider building an enterprise software platform for advanced aerial data management and processing, manipulation and edge analytics.
AeroX – Service provider building a model urban unmanned traffic management system in Forsyth County.
Climavision – Service provider building a weather data subscription service to access to real-time weather radar observations and weather forecasts for UAS mission planning.
Spirent – Service provider forecasting GPS integrity to ensure UAS operators have reliable GPS signal for safe future operations.
Spright – Flight operator focused on unmanned aircraft systems medical delivery of healthcare products for hospitals, clinics and laboratories.
With the addition of these five companies, North Carolina’s BEYOND team now hosts a total of 15 partners.
Launched in October 2020, BEYOND is a follow up to the Federal Aviation Administration’s threeâyear Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Pilot Program, in which the N.C. Department of Transportation played a leading role and posted many national firsts on commercial package delivery, food and retail delivery, and construction inspections.
