The City of Bentonville announced the acquisition of a $300,000 grant from the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics during the state meeting convened recently in Little Rock. This grant is a testament to the collaborative efforts dedicated to propelling the development of Bentonville Municipal Airport at Thaden Field forward.
The allocated funds will be designated for a portion of the construction of a vital hangar access road, strategically positioned on the western perimeter of the airport. This infrastructure enhancement is poised to facilitate seamless access to six new hangars currently in the pipeline for development, streamlining operations and bolstering the airport’s capacity for growth.
Debbie Griffin, Director of Administration and Airport Manager, expressed profound gratitude, remarking, “We are incredibly grateful to the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics for their generous support with a $300,000 grant, which marks a pivotal step in our ongoing efforts to enhance the Bentonville Municipal Airport at Thaden Field. This project not only signifies our commitment to improving our facilities but also to fostering growth and accessibility within our aviation community.”
This latest infusion of financial support exemplifies a steadfast dedication to elevating the standards of service and infrastructure at Bentonville Municipal Airport. Over the past two years, the airport has been the recipient of a total of $1.2 million in state grants, each contributing significantly to its mission of providing top-tier services and infrastructure.
Griffin further emphasized, “The partnerships and work being done at the municipal airport continue to add to the economic well-being of our community, reinforcing our status as a hub of innovation and progress in the region.”
The City of Bentonville extends its appreciation to the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics for their support and reaffirms its commitment to advancing the accessibility, efficiency, and overall excellence of Bentonville Municipal Airport at Thaden Field.
