Epic Flight Academy Holds Grand Opening in Connecticut

Members of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce and Epic Flight Academy staff welcomed local residents and aviation enthusiasts at the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony of Epic’s 12th FAA Part 141 flight school. The event on Saturday, October 17, 2026 was well attended with people touring the school and experiencing the flight simulator.

Director of campus operations Brock Rees said, “From our initial inquiry at Danbury Municipal Airport through every stage of the planning process, the Danbury community has been incredibly welcoming and supportive. We were thrilled by the strong turnout for our grand opening. Although windy conditions limited us to just one discovery flight, we scheduled approximately 20 additional flights for a later date.”

Epic founder and CEO Danny Perna added, “Attendance exceeded expectations. For those who couldn’t attend, we invite you to stop in and tour the school. We purchase all training aircraft brand new from the factory, and training is augmented with flight simulators. We’re excited to have landed in Connecticut.”

Epic Flight Academy was founded in 1999. It is the largest FAA Part 141 flight school in the U.S. and also offers Part 147 aircraft mechanic training in Florida and Kentucky. Epic has trained pilots from all 50 states and more than 100 countries.
