EAA Chapter 1343 and GTO Aviation, Inc. are hosting a Tennessee Valley regional fly in and expo on Saturday June 23, 2012 at Sumner County Regional Airport (M33). This all-day event will feature a pancake breakfast, live music, catered lunch, displays, vendors, educational sessions and lots of airplanes. We have invited all EAA chapters in Tennessee to attend as well as those chapters in border states. All pilots, aviation professionals and enthusiasts are invited. In honor of our very useful landmark 2 miles south of the extended centerline of runway 17, we are calling our event the Tennessee Steamplant Fly In.
Gates open at 8am for a pancake breakfast. Vendors and displays will be ready by 9am. At noon, we offer a catered lunch for purchase accompanied by live music by "Flyte Three." Late morning and early afternoon will feature some educational sessions and our vendors will be open all day. We have several manufacturers representing both Part 23 and LSA category aircraft as well as avionics, aircraft finishing, and more. In addition we’ll have information on learning to fly and representatives from EAA and AOPA on hand to answer member questions or sign up new members. AOPA members who renew on site will get an AOPA Tennessee pin. Planes will around all day, with a mix of warbirds, trikes, experimental and certificated models. Biplane rides will be available for purchase.
Our FBO will offer a FUEL DISCOUNT for all pilots who fly in. Parking and admission are free. We’ll have a group dinner the night before for any early arrivals. (Free tie downs Friday night and Saturday night if needed.)
