The Virginia Aviation Board (VAB) recently awarded $4.81 million to be split among 29 projects.
Greg Campbell, director of the Virginia Department of Aviation said the Board took another bold step to ensure the General Aviation airports in Virginia are some of the best in the country. “The $4.81 million awarded by the Board on August 15th will support 29 enhancement projects — both large and small — at 16 of Virginia’s GA airports. These funds will help ensure Virginia’s system of 65 public-use airports remains one of the best in the United States.”
Virginia is also set to receive more than $48 million in federal funding to upgrade infrastructure at 18 airports, part of a nationwide effort to modernize air travel hubs and boost local economies.
