The Manassas Regional Airport and Airport Commission has received the Mid-Atlantic Region Civil Air Patrol Frank G. Brewer Memorial Aerospace Award in the Organization Category of the Year Award. This honor is recognizing the outstanding contributions to the advancement of youth in aerospace activities. The award was presented in person by Commander of Civil Air Patrol’s Virginia Wing, Colonel Elizabeth “Liz” Sydow.
“The CAP Frank G. Brewer Award is one of the highest awards that the Civil Air Patrol can bestow upon an outside organization, and it motivates the Airport Staff and the Commission to further our outreach to local youth, to expose them to the many current and emerging career opportunities in Aerospace,” said Airport Commission Chairman, Charles Lemmon. “The relationship that the Airport has with Civil Air Patrol is one we value greatly. We are truly honored by this award, and we thank them for their continued support.”
“The Airport and our Commission are honored to receive this award,” said Airport Director, Juan Rivera. “We are a proud supporter of the Civil Air Patrol program and its aerospace education mission.” Additionally, Commission member Jim Uzzle adds, “As the Finance Officer for the airport CAP unit, I just want to add my thank you to all on the Manassas Regional Airport staff and the Airport Commission. The airport has greatly reduced our expenses and thus freed up money to be used to enhance the aerospace education for our cadets. Thank you again.”
