Burlington Senior Squadron Wing of Civil Air Patrol Announces Promotion

Thomas “Tom” Henderson has been promoted to 2nd Lieutenant, according to a statement by 1st Lt Lucien Thresher, Commander of the Burlington Senior Squadron (VT-002) here.  2nd Lt Henderson presently serves as Communications Officer, Safety Officer, and Assistant Finance Officer for the Burlington Senior Squadron.

“Tom is a valued officer, an enthusiastic aircrew member committed to the success of our squadron and his peers. His business acumen, technological expertise and lifelong interest in general aviation have proven to be important assets,” said Lt Thresher.

Lt. Henderson and his wife Kathy relocated to Vermont from Western New York four years ago, to be closer to family. He had a career in environmental services spanning over 30 years, gaining experience in emergency response, waste management, and the transportation and handling of hazardous materials. He earned a private pilot certificate in 1995. A graduate of Dartmouth College, Henderson also holds a Master’s degree from the Simon Business School at the University of Rochester.

I look forward to being of service to our community in Vermont and at the same time being able to pursue my interests in aviation, radio communications, and finance.”
