Oregon Department of Aviation Gives Update on Aurora Airport Master Planning Process

The Oregon Department of Aviation has given an update on the Aurora Airport Master Planning process. The Department reports that the technical team has been working hard to make changes to Working Paper #1 based on FAA’s comments (see the documents linked under “FAA Review” on the project website). This means that the committee meetings are ready to restart in the next few months. A 30-day public notice will be provided.

Updated Working Paper #1 with the combined edits from the prior FAA reviews.
A summary of the latest FAA comments and Century West responses to each comment.
Appendix 8 – Discarded Forecast Models, which includes the prior methodologies that were extracted from the earlier versions of Working Paper #1 for historical information.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
