LINCOLN, NEB — Duncan Aviation recently received a Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for in-flight Wi-Fi operations in Falcon 2000 and 2000EX aircraft equipped with Thrane and Thrane.
The certification allows SwiftBroadband aircraft Wi-Fi service in the cabin by upgrading the Thrane and Thrane Swift 64 Aero HSD+ Satellite Communication System to the SwiftBroadband Aviation 700 Satellite Communication System. The SwiftBroadband service provides high-speed in-flight internet connectivity, allowing passengers to use their iPads®, laptops, BlackBerrys, iPhones® and other Wi-Fi devices at connection speeds that provide an experience similar to that of ground-based Wi-Fi connections.
Thrane & Thrane’s SwiftBroadband System (Aviator 700) comes with four channels of global voice, one flight deck data link and up to two channels for internet (data). Other features of the system are:
· VoIP connectivity
· Low-cost voice
· Built-in router to support multiple wired or wireless (Wi-Fi) laptops and/or PDA devices
· Built in PBX to support multiple handsets
· ISDN connectivity (video conferencing)
This aircraft communications upgrade can be scheduled now at any of Duncan Aviation’s avionics installation locations, including Lincoln, Neb., Battle Creek, Mich., and several of Duncan Aviation’s satellite avionics shops.
