After several years of continuous company growth, APTech’s home base has relocated from downtown Urbana, Illinois to the business center within the University of Illinois Research Park in sister city Champaign.
“Though our previous home served us well for nearly 20 years, we simply outgrew the space,” said APTech’s President, Monty Wade, P.E.
APTech first moved into the building known as Tiernan’s Block at 115 West Main Street in 2006, initially occupying the third and fourth floors. As APTech continued to expand its services and personnel, the firm also took possession of the building’s second floor in 2014, acquiring additional square footage for more offices, meeting rooms, and recreational spaces.
During the last week of September, APTech moved into the second floor of 1908 South First Street in Champaign. This modern facility offers the APTech team nearly 20,000 square feet of working space—effectively doubling the prior office’s capacity. Additionally, all staff members will be located on the same floor, allowing more interaction and team collaboration.
“We are excited to begin APTech’s next chapter of growth in a state-of-the-art and team-oriented environment,” said Monty. “In addition to providing an ideal working environment for employees, it will also allow us to enhance our services and products to better serve our clients.”
APTech’s new headquarters overlooks the Research Park business district—a technology hub for corporate research and development operations, startups, and established companies. The building offers abundant natural light and connected spaces for easy collaboration between APTech’s employees.
The new environment is also rich in amenities for APTech staff members, including access to nearby wellness and childcare facilities, a network of scenic walking paths and urban greenspaces, and networking and business development opportunities to strengthen APTech’s community partnerships.
