The Florida-based consulting firm, Groom Aviation, today announced its expansion of the team with the addition of a Communications Director, Rebecca Groom Jacobs. Jacobs joins Groom Aviation following a three-year tenure at the renowned advertising agency, Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS) in Wichita, Kansas. Prior to SHS, she served on the marketing team at Piper Aircraft.
“Rebecca has accumulated an extensive resume in her relatively young professional career – having completed marketing and communications campaigns with multiple OEMs and engine manufacturers,” said Randy Groom, Founder and President of Groom Aviation. “We’re thrilled to welcome another family member to the team, and to continue enhancing our available services.”
At SHS, Jacobs combined her insight as a pilot and her creative talents to provide advertising and marketing direction to the aviation, aerospace and defense team. While there, she worked closely with major brands including Textron Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, Engine Alliance and Doc’s Friends. In addition to offering strategy and branding input, she headed the team’s press relations and social media activities.
“Rebecca has a true passion for all things that fly, the people who fly them and everything in between,” said Tom Bertels, retired SHS managing partner and CMO of Partners in Aviation. “She’s not only an excellent strategic thinker, but also very creative in the way she approaches a challenge. Where else can you find someone who’s helped orchestrate a Kickstarter campaign for a WWII B-29 and also generated social media content for major jet engine manufacturers?”
In her new role, Jacobs will develop and implement communication strategies for Groom Aviation clients, creating rich and creative content. Communications can include news releases, social media, website content, newsletters, articles, advertisements, and more. Rebecca also serves as a contributing writer for Twin & Turbine magazine.
