To honor National Volunteer Month in April, the Boca Raton Airport Authority hosted a cereal and breakfast items food drive and volunteered their time to benefit Boca Helping Hands (BHH). The Airport Authority and airport tenants donated 315 pounds of breakfast items, which will help families receive the most important meal of the day.
On April 21, 2022, Boca Raton Airport Authority board members, management, and airport tenants, including Boomers, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, and Signature Flight Support, volunteered with Boca Helping Hands to package individual bags of food for those who come through the BHH drive-through. They also packaged breakfast, lunch, and dinners for elementary schools that service 1,500 students each weekend.
“We turned partnering with Boca Helping Hands into an annual collaboration by hosting a food drive and volunteering at BHH Pantry. Boca Helping Hands is a vital organization that exceeds expectations while providing for our local community. We are always so excited to get involved and help our community soar,” said Boca Raton Airport Authority Executive Director Clara Bennett.
Boca Helping Hands is a community-based 501(c) (3) organization whose mission is to provide food, medical, and financial assistance to meet basic human needs, as well as education, job training, and guidance to create self-sufficiency.
