The General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has announced membership actions on two companies: magniX and VerdeGo Aero.
magniX joined GAMA in 2018 as an Associate EPIC member and has since been actively engaged in the committee’s activities. Headquartered in Redmond, Washington and also operating in Australia, magniX develops all-electric propulsion units intended for normal category, commercially operated aircraft. The magniX propulsion solution includes high power density motors and an aerospace multi-application inverter, the magniDrive.
VerdeGo Aero is an electric propulsion manufacturer founded in 2017 and based in Daytona Beach, Florida. VerdeGo Aero’s IDEP systems are a modular set of battery-electric and hybrid-electric propulsion components that are under development to support a wide array of aircraft and mission profiles. The first-generation hybrid IDEP systems currently under development at VerdeGo Aero can be applied to aircraft for Urban Air Mobility, cargo transportation, military missions, EMS, longer-range VTOL missions, and next-generation CTOL aircraft. The hybrid IDEP platform is being engineered to enable seamless upgrades to the second-generation battery IDEP platform when battery cells with sufficient energy density, power density, cycle lifetime, and cost are available for aerospace usage. VerdeGo Aero also supports its customers with engineering and prototyping services to accelerate progress on development of new aircraft utilizing battery-electric or hybrid-electric propulsion.
