Aero Club Foundation of Washington Announces Scholarship Winners of 2022

The Aero Club Foundation of Washington has selected five scholarship recipients for 2022: Zoe Denito of Rockville, MD; Patrick Gilbert of Fairfax, VA; Diedonne Kazzembe of Washington, DC; Keiri Sanchez of Washington, DC; and Shae Stonemeier of Wheaton, MD.  The Aero Club Foundation is proud to support each recipient as they pursue their next step in the fascination of flight!

Established in 1995, the Aero Club Foundation of Washington’s mission is to foster interest in the principles and development of aviation, aeronautics and the science of aerodynamics by establishing and sponsoring educational programs at public and Charter schools in the District of Columbia, is carried out in a variety of meaningful initiatives.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
