Colorado Governor Announces New Aeronautical Board Appointments

Three new members of the Colorado Aeronautical Board (CAB) were recently appointed by Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper beginning their terms on February 1, 2013. The terms of John William Reams, William L. Thompson and Dr. Jeffrey Scott Forrest will expire on December 19th, 2015.

John William Reams of Naturita, CO was appointed to the CAB to serve as a Western Slope member representing local governments which operate airports. Reams is a business owner and rancher from Naturita and serves on a variety of western slope Boards, Associations, Councils and Committees. 

 
William L. Thompson of Colorado Springs will serve as a CAB member from the Eastern Slope, representing local governments which operate airports. Thompson is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and is a decorated U.S. Air Force Pilot. Thompson retired as an International Check Captain after 25 years as a pilot for Delta Airlines. Prior to Thompson’s appointment to the CAB, he was Commissioner of Aeronautics for Massachusetts for 17 years. 
 
Dr. Jeffrey Scott Forrest of Littleton will serve as a CAB member from the Eastern Slope and will represent local governments which operate airports. Forrest is Chair of the Department of Aviation and Aerospace Science at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Forrest holds graduate degrees in aviation management, aerospace systems management, and information science, including doctoral work addressing the implementation of aviation safety information sharing systems.
 
Following these appointments, Joe Thibodeau was elected by the Board to serve as the CAB Chairman. Additionally, Debra Wilcox was voted  to serve the new CAB Secretary. Dale Hancock will remain as the CAB Vice Chairman.
