Piper Aircraft appointed BAYMAP Aviation, Ankara, Turkey, as its dealer for new aircraft sales in the Middle Eastern country that spans Southeastern Europe and Southwestern Asia.
In addition, Piper and BAYMAP will be jointly exhibiting two M-Class aircraft at AIREX 2012 Istanbul Air Show, held here Sept. 6-9 on the General Aviation apron at Istanbul Atatürk Airport. Aircraft on display include the single-engine Piper Meridian turboprop and the single-engine unpressurized Piper Matrix.
BAYMAP is a subsidiary of Korfez Aerial Survey and Engineering Ltd. Co., which is active in Turkey, Libya, Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia. "Piper is delighted to have BAYMAP and its CEO Oben Ogultarhan (shown above) in our growing organization of new aircraft dealers," said Enrico Evers, Piper Regional Sales Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "The addition of BAYMAP is a significant step forward in continuing to build our EMEA team."

Ogultarhan is an experienced flight instructor with 25 years of aviation experience. He holds a number of pilot certificates and specializes in training, bush flying, aerial survey and search and rescue operations. He is a respected and accomplished aviation leader in his country. Based at Etimesgut Airport in Ankara, BAYMAP also is involved in pilot training and aircraft maintenance.
