The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) is pleased to announce the election of Don Bergin of Blast Deflectors, Inc. (BDI) as chair of the 2016 ACC Board of Directors. Bergin assumed the position at the ACC membership meeting on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 during the 37th ACC Annual Conference and Exposition in Newport Beach, California.
Bergin is Vice President of BDI, located in Reno, Nevada. For more than 55 years, BDI has been a leading designer and supplier of jet blast deflectors and engine run-up enclosures. Bergin is responsible for BDI’s business development and strategic planning. He also participates on the company’s technology innovation task force.
“I am honored and excited to become the new Board of Directors Chair of ACC and to work with the diverse and dedicated group of industry experts that comprise the Board and our membership,” said Bergin. “Together, working with the very talented staff at ACC, we will build upon the successes of past Board Chair, Carol Lurie of VHB, to elevate the impact that ACC has on the airport industry. I am eager to focus on ACC’s most important initiative: being the “go-to” organization on airport development issues.”

Bergin frequently attends and speaks at aviation industry conferences around the world, sharing his passion for improving safety and reducing noise levels for airports. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in International Studies from Spring Hill College and has over 20 years of international business experience. An avid fan of the Reno Air Races, in his spare time Bergin enjoys skiing, trail running and camping with his wife and two young children.
