Alabama Lt. Governor Kay Ivey, Chair of ASA, was extremely pleased with the recent Expo in regard to aerospace investments in the United States. “ASA’s partnership with SelectUSA produced a quality expo with over 300 attendees and 21 sponsors,” said the Lt. Governor. One of the key components was matchmaking sessions where investors met one-on-one with potential investment partners. “This will pay huge dividends down the road,” said Lt. Governor Ivey. “In addition, I was extremely proud of the presentation by my friend Barry Eccleston, President of Airbus Americas, and his presentation on the investment in Alabama to build A320 family passenger jets.”
Charlie Huettner, ASA Executive Director, noted that there were 280 matchmaking appointments, 69 speakers, 16 workshops, two special breakfasts with speakers and two great receptions. “I was thankful for all that participated and sponsored the Expo and Bob Mansfield for managing the event.”
This event is not just for aerospace companies – it’s also a great opportunity for smaller firms to learn how they can better integrate into the aerospace supply chain in the United States. Considering the United States is seen as the No. 1 investment destination in the world, the Expo was a unique gathering for exceptional business opportunities.
