Rick Armstrong, vice president and general manager for FlightSafety International Simulation in Broken Arrow, has been
reappointed to the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission by Gov. Mary Fallin. Armstrong’s term expires Dec. 31. 2018.
Armstrong (shown at right) said he was very pleased to have been appointed to the Commission four years ago and then to be reappointed for a full six-year term. "It is an honor to serve my state in such a capacity, especially in an industry that is near and dear to my heart.” Armstrong said he is looking forward to rolling up his sleeves and working diligently alongside the rest of his colleagues on the Commission and with the Commission staff as they continue to help grow Oklahoma’s aviation and aerospace industry.
Armstrong, who resides in Tulsa, has been with FlightSafety since 2007 where he is responsible for the development, manufacture and certification of flight simulators for FlightSafety Training Centers and the military and commercial aviation markets. He manages FlightSafety facilities in Tulsa; Austin, Texas; and St. Louis, Mo.
Prior to joining FlightSafety, Armstrong worked 18 years for The NORDAM Group in Tulsa, where he served as vice president for the Interiors and Structures Division and Transparency Division. His previous employment history also includes an eight-year stint with Xerox Corporation.
Armstrong, who also serves on the board of directors for the Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense Alliance, executive board of the Oklahoma Business Roundtable and Northeastern State University’s President’s Council, holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University.
