Duncan Aviation has installed and certified Aircell Broadband with in-flight Wi-Fi in a Citation 560XL, Learjet 45 and Challenger 600-2B16, including the 601-3A/601-3R/604 variants. The STC will also apply to the 560XL/XLS. This Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) adds to a long list of Duncan Aviation STCs for aircraft internet systems. With completed installations nearing 300 aircraft, and with plans for dozens more in the coming months, Duncan Aviation is the clear leader in the aftermarket installation of in-flight internet and Wi-Fi upgrades such as Aircell Gogo Biz and Swiftbroadband systems.
“Broadband with Wi-Fi is one of our most requested avionics upgrades, and our investment in STCs represents our commitment to our core customer base,” said Duncan Aviation’s Avionics Sales Representative Steve Elofson.
Duncan Aviation’s Manager of Certification Programs, Shawn Carraher said they’ve completed these installations and certifications in their major service locations in Lincoln, Nebraska, and Battle Creek, Michigan, as well as their satellite avionics locations. “Working with our ODA allows a great deal of flexibility for our customers, allowing us to give them the upgrade they need in a location that is convenient to their operation.”
Duncan Aviation has invested heavily in this market. The company owns 12 STCs for broadband with Wi-Fi. The STCs were completed by the Duncan Aviation Engineering Team under Duncan Aviation’s Organization Designation Authorization (ODA), which includes STC, Major Repair and Alterations (MRA) and Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA) authority. Duncan Aviation holds STCs for in-flight Wi-Fi for the following models: Hawker 800A, 800XP, 850XP, 900XP, the Falcon 2000, 2000EX, 2000EX EASy and 900EX, 900EX EASy, the Citation 680, 750, the Challenger 300, 601-3A/R, 604, 605, Lear 45, Embraer Legacy 600, 650 and the Gulfstream GIV, GV.
