Piper Altaire Business Jet

Many of the positions that the company seeks will be for the company’s new single-engine Altaire business jet which is progressing toward its maiden flight in 2012, with certification and first customer deliveries in 2014. The Piper Altaire is an entry-level jet with the economics of a turboprop and the cabin size and capabilities of a much larger business jet. The company’s backlog is sufficient for the first three years of production.

Vero Beach Manufacturing Campus

Manufacturing assembly of the first Altaire slated for flight testing began in August in Piper’s modern 75,000-square-foot dedicated final assembly facility on Piper’s manufacturing campus in Vero Beach, Fla., where the new aircraft will be built. Piper invested more than $5.6 million in preparing its facilities for production of the Altaire.
