Aviation Planning Manager
On behalf of our client, we are seeking applications for an Aviation Planning Manager. Under minimum supervision, our client is seeking a self-starting experienced aviation planner who is customer oriented and driven to complete airport system planning function at a state level. Selected candidate will perform reviews, assessments, planning, analyzing, and maintain a Statewide Aviation System Plan. The planning manage studies statewide airport/aviation needs to include system planning, airport master planning, airport layout plans, air service studies, and economic impact studies. In addition, the planner will develop relationships with airport sponsors, consultants, state and federal agencies. Further responsibilities include, reviewing individual Airport Master Plans, assisting in airport state licensing programs, planning contracts, airspace matters, and is responsible for the publication of an Airport Directory and Aeronautical Chart. A strong knowledge of FAA planning requirements and guidance documents is essential for the planning manager’s success in supporting a state aviation program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Transportation Planning, or related field AND five years of experience in transportation program management.
Note: Related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of the air carrier/air transportation system planning. Experience managing planning studies on a statewide basis and reviewing airport master plans and layout plans.

Position Requirements:
This is a full time position of 40 hours per week and requires office hours in Atlanta, GA. The position further requires approximately 15% travel with some overnight stays. Successful candidates will be required to submit to and pass a drug test and criminal background check.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary range is $60,000 to $80,000 annually based on qualifications and experience. A full range of competitive benefits is offered.
