EAA’s education team built off its success in 2024 by improving and expanding youth programming to reach more kids across Wisconsin. More than 8,000 kids participated in EAA Education events over the period from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025. These events include school field trips, scout groups, and other extracurricular activities.
“Aviation education can help kids develop skills that are applicable to any field such as critical thinking, and problem solving,” said Alyssa Clancy, EAA Youth Education Center Program Manager. “This versatility is valuable when planning a field trip or after-school activity.”
Most of the attendance came from 111 field trips to the EAA Museum’s Youth Education Center. These trips include a tour of the museum along with hands-on activities to help students learn about different aspects of aviation. EAA offers 20 different field trip options, allowing schools to tailor their experience to their preference. Homeschooled kids also had an opportunity to participate in monthly Homeschool Half-Day events. More than 360 kids participated in these events from November 1, 2024, to October 31, 2025.
In addition, 1,000 kids throughout Wisconsin had the opportunity to participate in activities through outreach programs, as members of EAA’s education team took some of the museum activities on the road. The EAA team visited classrooms, career fairs, libraries, and airports to make aviation education more accessible to students.
The summer months saw the team focus on six sessions of Air Academy, an immersive summer camp featuring hands-on activities, flight simulations and other demonstrations. Two of the sessions in 2025 featured a new itinerary known as the Discover Flight Camp. This camp had a pilot emphasis including topics such as flight instruments, meteorology and airport operations. More than 260 campers attended Air Academy across all six sessions.
