Port of Bremerton Hires New Airport Manager for Bremerton National Airport

Cole Barnes

After weeks of interviewing a variety of strong candidates, Cole Barnes has been selected by the Port of Bremerton as the new airport manager for Bremerton National Airport. He will be joining the team beginning April 8th. Barnes, who previously was the Airport Operations Specialist at the Southwest Oregon Regional Airport, graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Aviation Management and is currently working on his master’s degree from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Aeronautics with a specialty in Sustainability. Furthermore, Cole has obtained his commercial pilot’s license from the Big Bend Community College, a characteristic that will help him connect more with our pilots based at Bremerton National Airport.

“We are very fortunate on the timing for Cole moving back to this area,” says Port CEO Jim Rothlin. “His education and expertise in airport management is a perfect fit for our team. There are so many exciting projects and ideas in the works at the airport, and Cole is very motivated to hit the ground running and continue with the Port’s success here at Bremerton National airport.”

With the addition of Cole, Bremerton National Airport will continue to facilitate a mutually beneficial relationship with the FAA and secure funds to make the necessary improvements to the airfield. Cole has also stated that he is particularly looking forward to relocating back to our region of Washington while working with us at Bremerton National Airport, as he grew up in the Shelton area. His hobbies include fishing, flying, and golf. It is our pleasure to have someone familiar with the region managing our airport.
