The Easton and Skykomish State-Managed Airports received new airport cameras July 17. The two Axis Pan Tilt Zoom cameras include four directional image captures for each airport that pilots can use to aid them in pre-flight planning.
Pilots can now have access to North, South, East, and West image captures at Easton Airport and South, Southeast, East, and West image captures at Skykomish. Both cameras operate 24 hours a day with images updating every 15 minutes that include a time and date stamp.
WSDOT Aviation thanked everyone who made this possible; South-Central Region’s Drason Wilder, Lynn Cooke, Kevin Nicholson and crew members that installed all new underground power for the airport lighting system and camera, a new camera, new code compliant electrical service panel, new controls cabinet, new cellular service, new camera tower with concrete base and obstruction light at the Easton Airport. Northwest Region Douglass Wells for installing the new camera on an existing tower at Skykomish. Northwest Region’s Network and Telecommunication Specialist Barry Sommers for setting up the image captures for the Woodland, Easton, and Skykomish cameras. Aviation Communications Christina Crea for setting up the airport website for image posts.
“This is a true One-DOT team effort!” said State-Airports Manager Paul Wolf.
The Woodland State Airport camera was also recently installed. For more information on airport cameras, please see the Airport cameras map.
