EagleMed LLC is adding 14 employees and a medically configured Beechcraft King Air B200 to a new critical care air medical transport operation located near Houston, Texas. The company has already begun flying fixed wing critical care transports in the Houston region from the new location.
“At EagleMed we are very pleased to add this important resource to a medical community that annually serves hundreds of thousands of patients with critical needs,” said EagleMed President Larry Bugg. EagleMed operates a fleet of 20 Beechcraft King Airs, 15 helicopters and six ground ambulances.
“When distance is a factor and time is essential in terms of patient outcomes, a 24/7 medically-staffed King Air B200 adds a vital transport modality to the region’s patient support infrastructure,” he added. The King Air medical transport capability will also be available to members of the AirMedCare membership network.
International Flights
In addition to serving south Texas, the Houston operation will also conduct international critical care flights into Mexico. EagleMed’s 20th King Air is based in its own dedicated hangar at David Wayne Hooks Memorial Airport in Spring, Texas.
The pressurized medically configured Beechcraft King Air B200 turboprop with twin upgraded Blackhawk engines and Garmin G1000 class cockpit with synthetic vision is capable of instrument flight during meteorological conditions at a speed of 310 mph and a range of approximately 900 miles round trip.
