Michelle Frazier, currently serving as the Director of Aeronautics for the State of Tennessee, will assume a new position as the Statewide Director of Performance Management for the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). Michelle will ensure accountability through the creation of a new division underneath Will Ried, Assistant Chief Engineer of Program Delivery. The new division will focus solely on departmental performance, through the creation of new metrics and objectives, data governance, and quality management.
“Aviation is a tight-knit community that feels like family, even at a state and national level,” said Ms. Frazier. “I have greatly enjoyed my time as Director of Aeronautics for the State of Tennessee. What a great experience! I will miss working with the talented and dedicated professionals at Tennessee airports, but I am excited to see what the future holds in my new position.”
Jay Norris, P.E., who has more than 20 years of experience with TDOT, will assume the role of Interim Director of Aeronautics.
Norris has an extensive knowledge of transportation as he has held many key roles in the Department during his tenure. The department will work to hire a full-time Director of Aeronautics over the next several months.
