David Gotschall, a leader in aviation engineering and construction, has joined Woolpert as a project manager. Gotschall has 34 years of experience in the design and construction of airfields, roadways and underground utilities, as well as in project coordination and communication, contract management and budget management.
Gotschall has managed aviation programs from runway replacements and extensions to terminal apron reconstruction and valve-controlled glycol collection programs. Through his tenure with the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, where he worked for more than 30 years, Gotschall managed the Runway 10R-28L replacement program that made John Glenn Columbus International the first commercial airport in the country to go to an all-LED runway lighting system.
“Woolpert has a reputation for providing a wide variety of services in the airport environment, from architecture and engineering to geospatial and consulting work,” Gotschall said. “The teams here understand the bigger picture and know how to evaluate and improve an airport from all perspectives. I’m excited to work with Woolpert to help commercial and general aviation airports expand intelligently so they can solve both current and future problems.”
