North Dakota Airports See 10% Growth in Passenger Boardings in First Half of 2025

The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission (NDAC) has released its monthly report detailing airline passenger traffic at the state’s eight commercial service airports.

Air travel demand in North Dakota remains strong in 2025, as both residents and visitors increasingly take advantage of the air service options available across the state.

During the first six months of 2025, North Dakota’s commercial airports recorded a combined 654,304 passenger boardings. This represents a 10% increase, or 59,263 more passengers, compared to the same period in 2024.

June 2025 also marked the busiest June on record, with 108,270 passengers statewide. This surpasses the previous June record last year, reflecting a nearly 5% year-over-year increase and an additional 4,749 passengers using commercial air service during the month.

North Dakota has now seen fourteen straight months of record-high passenger activity—an impressive indicator of the strength, reliability, and appeal of the state’s commercial air service network.

“Every corner of North Dakota is benefiting from enhanced air service, with more flights, better connections, and growing access to major hubs. This upward trend is great news for our communities, our economy, and our future,” stated Kyle Wanner, Executive Director of the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission.
