Duncan Aviation announced that its Austin, Texas, workaway station is now a full-fledged, FAA-certified, Duncan Aviation Satellite Avionics Shop. Reginald Rutley, who has been a familiar face at the Duncan Aviation Satellite Shop in Dallas and at the workaway station at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport for the last 13 years, has accepted the position of Manager of the newly certified shop.
Manager of Satellite Operations Matt Nelson says, “We’ve been fortunate to have Reggie leading the Austin shop for years as part of the Dallas Satellite facility, and now we’re very excited to have him lead our effort to grow the entire central Texas region. Reggie has become a familiar and friendly face to our customers in the area, and it’ll be fun to expand his role.”
Rutley began his aviation career by serving six years in the United States Marine Corps, working as an Aviation Electrician on the AV8B Harrier. After his service, Rutley went to the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Technology Management.
“The customers are the reason I enjoy working for the Duncan Aviation Satellite Shops. I’ve never really considered myself a people-person, but over the years, I’ve truly enjoyed the one-on-one relationships I’ve formed with so many of our customers,” says Rutley. “Because our satellites shops are small shops and are located where many of our customers are based, the satellite team members are the face of Duncan Aviation for our customers, so those relationships are invaluable.”
In addition to the Austin Satellite Shop, Rutley will also manage the San Antonio workaway station, where he and Satellite Avionics Crew Leader Greg Ashpaugh have been performing avionics line maintenance services for customers for the last 14 months.
The facility at Austin and the workaway station at San Antonio will continue to perform Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast Out (ADS-B Out) installations for Duncan Aviation customers. Both facilities have slots available in 2018 and 2019, so contact Rutley (+1 512.530.7050) or Ashpaugh (+1 210.267.9644) or visit the Duncan Aviation ADS-B (www.duncanaviation.aero/adsb) website for more information.
