Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) Management and Operations Vice President Chad Leqve today announced that Scott Skramstad has been selected to direct terminal and landside operations for Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).
“Scott Skramstad is a proven leader whose knowledge, experience and vision will be invaluable in our continued efforts to ensure safe, efficient, customer-centric terminal, parking and ground transportation services at MSP Airport,” Leqve said. “Scott has played a key role in advancing heath safety measures at MSP while increasing efficiencies during the global pandemic. In his new role, Scott will continue those efforts while developing and implementing strategies to anticipate and exceed customer needs and expectations as we position MSP for post-pandemic success.”
A 20-year employee of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Skramstad began his career working in the MAC’s noise mitigation program before becoming manager of Terminal 2 operations in 2009. Most recently, he served as assistant director over MSP facilities, overseeing terminal cleaning and maintenance, the airport’s energy management center, and work by skilled tradespeople – carpenters, electricians, painters and plumbers. Those efforts helped MSP achieve the status of Best Airport in North America four consecutive years through a customer survey program administered by Airports Council International.
Skramstad led key aspects of the MAC’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing teams that implemented a robust cleaning program, development and installation of plexiglass barriers and hand sanitizing stations, and efforts to encourage social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing. He worked with industry leaders to establish an airport accreditation program through the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) and achieved accreditation for MSP in the GBAC’s Star Facility program and through Airports Council International’s Airport Health Accreditation Program.
In addition, Skramstad focused on robust compliance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations and served on the MAC Executive Sustainability Council, helping advance projects, strategies and ideas in support of the organization’s 2030 sustainability goals.

Skramstad holds a master’s degree in business administration from Concordia University and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Dakota. He is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives and past chair of MSP’s Customer Service Action Council Forum Committee. He formerly served in the North Dakota Army National Guard.
A native of Fargo, North Dakota, Skramstad and his family reside in Lakeville, Minnesota.
