Bill Eves Appointed Airport Engineering Bureau Chief for State

Bill Eves

Clayton Stambaugh, Illinois Division of Aeronautics Deputy Director, announced recently that effective March 1st, 2023, Mr. Bill Eves was appointed as the Bureau Chief of Airport Engineering in the Office of Intermodal Project Implementation/Division of Aeronautics at the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Eves most recently served as the Engineer of Airport Construction and Materials in the Division of Aeronautics and has been with the Department for more than 8 years. Eves has thirty years of engineering and project management experience in both public and private sector roles as a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). He received his Bachelor of Science in General Engineering from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Eves is a certificated Private Pilot with an Instrument Rating and High Performance/Complex Endorsement.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
