Private Jet Company Volato Orders 15 Additional Aircraft from HondaJet

Volato, the modern way to buy and own a private jet, has ordered 15 jets From HondaJet, bringing the total number in its fleet once delivered to 22. Delivery will begin in 2022.

When the company launched in September 2021, it did so with just one four-seat HondaJet Elite S aircraft. Strong demand for fractional ownership with Volato has driven the recent purchase order. The planes will be added to the fleet at Volato’s homebase located in Peachtree DeKalb Airport in Atlanta and across the nation based upon owners’ needs.

The jet purchase comes on the heels of Volato’s December launch of a charter service to meet the demand for private flights. Volato charter allows non-owner travelers to book a flight and pay by the hour. A portion of charter fees are returned to Volato fractional owners: a distinguishing, valuable feature of Volato’s program.

Volato’s unique business model offers fractional ownership at 1/16, 1/8, 1⁄4, 1⁄2, through to a full HondaJet Elite S aircraft in the fleet. Shares are in a five-year program term. Owners may fly for as low as $3,200 per hour plus fuel at cost. With the charter program now in operation, owners may earn up to $1,250 per hour, even on the hours they fly, leading to a net rate as low as $1,950 per hour plus fuel at cost, with flight time charged to the nearest 1/10th of an hour. Repositioning fees are reduced or eliminated from owner flight charges depending on the departure distance from a Volato base.

Matt Liotta

“The private aviation industry has long needed an overhaul with a focus on efficiency for four-or-less passenger missions and as we enter year three of the pandemic, it’s clear the aviation industry has changed for good,” stated Matt Liotta, CEO at Volato. “The ease of booking, convenience of check-in, comfort and now cost, are all attractive features of private flight.”

Volato manages pilots, maintenance, hangars, fees and flight operations; owners simply schedule flights through Volato, show up and relax. On-board amenities include a fresh-brew coffee system, a dual divided ice drawer, generous storage for catering, and snacks and beverages. The jet’s fully enclosed lavatory includes a brightly lit vanity mirror, dual mini skylights, a vessel sink with running water, a leather-appointed seat lid and roomy cabinets for personal-hygiene items.
