ORLANDO (Oct. 20, 2009) – Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) today announced that it is donating two flights in its Beechcraft T-6 military trainer at a live auction to raise money for the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) Charity Benefit. The sole beneficiary of this year’s Charity Benefit is Corporate Angel Network (CAN), a charitable organization that eases the burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers using empty seats on business aircraft. The Charity Benefit will be held during the 2009 NBAA Annual Meeting and Convention beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando.
“We applaud the work of the Corporate Angel Network to match corporate flight operations with the travel needs of patients whose conditions might otherwise make it impossible for them to travel,” said Bill Boisture, Hawker Beechcraft Chairman and CEO. “We are happy to be a part of this charitable event and support such a worthy organization.”
HBC delivers the most advanced primary training aircraft and ground-based training systems available. The T-6A is a proven trainer with an established training and logistics infrastructure. The T-6B is an upgraded platform that nearly doubles the number of student hours available in the primary trainer. Both offer lower life-cycle costs and more extensive support than any other trainer on the market. The aircraft has been used to train military pilots in more than 20 different countries. Recently, Hawker Beechcraft celebrated milestone events in the 500th delivery of the aircraft and when the T-6 reached one million flight hours.
Only U.S. citizens who pass a screening test shall be eligible to win the T-6 ride. Rides must be taken by September 30, 2010. Other limitations may apply.
