RTCA Announces New Appointment to Board of Directors

RTCA, Inc. announced the appointment of Mr. Vipul Gupta, the Vice President and General Manager of Honeywell Aerospace Avionics to the RTCA’s Board of Directors. Mr. Gupta replaces Mr. Michael Ingram from Honeywell, who recently left Honeywell. This appointment is effective April 1, 2021.

“I look forward to working with Vipul as our newest member of the RTCA Board of Directors”, said Terry McVenes, RTCA President and Chief Executive Officer. “His international background in next generation avionics platforms and experience as a versatile and creative thinker will provide additional strategic guidance that will continue positioning RTCA for the future.”

Vipul joined Honeywell in 2001 and his education background includes a Master’s of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Cincinnati and a MBA from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

McVenes added, “I also want to thank Mike Ingram for his contributions to RTCA in recent years. He has been instrumental in strengthening RTCA’s value for our industry and government partners.”

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
