Denver International Airport (DIA) has named Stacey Stegman as the new Global Communications Director. The position will lead the airport’s communications and marketing efforts on a local, regional, national and international level. Stegman plans to join DIA on December 10, 2012 and will oversee all functions of DIA’s Communications and Marketing office including media relations, marketing, social media, website development and internal communication resources.
Stegman comes to DIA from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), where she’s served nearly 17 years. She became the agency’s public relations director in late 2001 and will be a familiar face to the media and public alike. Stegman said that DIA had always been among the top places to work that interested her. "I did see myself moving to aviation," said Stegman. "We have an aeronautics division in the department [CDOT] and it’s always been of great interest to me."
Kim Day, Manager of Aviation for DIA, said they are very fortunate to have found someone of her caliber. “She brings her depth of expertise within the transportation industry, she is a proven professional and she brings terrific pre-existing relationships with local media providers. We are very excited to welcome her to our team.”
"I love transportation and the transition from highways to aviation seems really natural," said Stegman.
"Still, I know I have much to learn and I’m elated to be given the opportunity to join such a dynamic and innovative team."
Prior to her career at CDOT, Stegman worked in radio promotions and as an on-air talent. She holds a B.A. in Communications from the University of Colorado at Denver.
