2013 Aviation Grant Program Shows Impressive Results for Colorado's Airports

The Colorado Discretionary Aviation Grant (CDAG) Hearings were held on January 28th, 2013 in conjunction with The Colorado Airport Operators Association’s (CAOA) Winter Conference.

The Colorado Aeronautical Board approved 44 aviation grants totaling $20.7 Million. Over $41.2 Million of Federal funds were leveraged as a result of the 2013 Aviation Grant Hearings. This year’s aviation grants ranged from $3,947 up to as much as $3 Million. Projects funded with this year’s discretionary aviation grants include airfield safety improvements, snow removal equipment, and airfield pavement maintenance and construction.

Kim Stevens

Kim Stevens is the publisher of State Aviation Journal, which he founded in 2009. A longtime commercial-rated pilot, he was introduced to state aviation in 1992 as Director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics, later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Arizona Department of Transportation's Aeronautics Division. From 2013 to 2018, he was Director of Communications and Operations for the National Association of State Aviation Officials (NASAO) in Washington, D.C. Relocating to North Carolina, Kim worked for the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for two years and now concentrates solely on the Journal. Prior to his aviation career, Kim spent a decade in the newspaper and magazine business.
