Van Nuys Airport hosted a pancake breakfast to raise money for the Mid Valley Family YMCA. The “Endless Pancake Breakfast” was hosted at the Van Nuys Airport Fire Station 114. The event featured endless pancakes, activities for the kids, tours of the fire station, and a display of classic cars. The event raised over $2,000.
“Van Nuys Airport is committed to fostering and building strong community partnerships. Through Team LAWA, airport volunteers can give back to the community through service and interaction,” said Flora Margheritis, Van Nuys Airport manager. “The annual pancake breakfast is a fun day at the airport for youngsters and families, and the funds raised supports the important work that the YMCA does on behalf of our community’s youth.”
Van Nuys Airport employees, friends, family, and tenants volunteer their time for a wide variety of community projects. These volunteer projects often include beautification, clean-up, fundraising and event participation. Past events have included the beautification of an elementary school, assembling care packages for troops through Operation Gratitude, tending to the grounds of the Theodore Payne Foundation and a food drive garnering support for the SOVA Pantry of Van Nuys.
