Olsson Associates Adds Stevens to its Phoenix Airports Team

Olsson Associates has announced the addition of Kim Stevens as a business development leader for its Phoenix Airports team.

Stevens has been involved in aviation for 30 years, having earned his pilot’s license in 1979, followed by his commercial license with an instrument rating in 1981. He was appointed director of the Nebraska Department of Aeronautics by the Governor of Nebraska in 1992 and served in that capacity for six years. His career in state government continued when he was hired in 2001 by the Arizona Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Division. Stevens served at ADOT for nine years, most recently as deputy division director.

His diverse career also includes nine years as a trooper in the Nebraska State Patrol. Seven of those years were spent in the executive protection division as a body guard for Governors Kerry, Orr and Nelson. Stevens also has worked in the insurance and securities industry and was licensed in both.  

Stevens has served on numerous boards and committees, including serving as secretary of the National Association of State Aviation Officials and on the aviation standing committee for the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO).

Stevens attended the University of Nebraska on both the Lincoln and Omaha campuses.
