America’s Friendliest Airport® welcomed its newest airline, Condor Airlines, to Arizona today. Phoenix, Mayor Greg Stanton and local leaders gathered at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to greet the first arriving flight and celebrate the start of service to Frankfurt, Germany. Condor Airlines, part of the Thomas Cook Group, will operate the route between Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Frankfurt Airport twice a week through September. The flight will operate on Mondays and Fridays, and will provide a critical link for both business and leisure travelers to and from Germany and Arizona.
Travelers wishing to connect elsewhere will find that the flight offers a convenient and time-effective way to get to Europe and beyond. Condor offers service to 90 destinations from Frankfurt. Business and leisure travelers to Germany will also find that the Frankfurt Airport serves the most destinations of any airport in the world, offering service to about 300 destinations across five continents.
The twice a week flight will be served by a Boeing 767-300ER with more than 250 seats. Each passenger onboard will receive complimentary checked baggage, beverages, meals and in-flight entertainment. The 18 seats in Business Class feature lie-flat seats, a personal in-seat premium entertainment system, power and USB ports, and gourmet meals with complimentary beer, wine and cocktails. Those seated in one of the 35 seats in the Premium Class will find added legroom and adjustable headrests, premium in-flight, in-seat entertainment, USB ports, premium meals and complimentary beverages. Condor Airlines also participates in the TSA’s Pre-Check Program.
Frankfurt is the latest new route added at Phoenix Sky Harbor. The Airport has been focused on increasing international service, including adding new Montreal service earlier this year and increased service to London on British Airways. Phoenix Sky Harbor is a convenient gateway to destinations in the U.S. and abroad with nonstop service offered to more than 100 domestic destinations and 22 international destinations. The flight will also benefit the local economy, as international flights to Phoenix already bring in approximately $3 billion each year.
