The Business Aviation Group announced that Kenneth F. Wiegand, A.A.E., principal of Business Airport Consulting, LLC, is now providing airport consulting services to BA Group clients.

I look forward to working with BA Group to assist business aviation airports across the country maximize their operations and development potential to become as financial self-sufficient as possible,” Wiegand said.
Wiegand’s airport management career began in November 1985, where he enjoyed a successful 10-year term as the Airport Manager and Executive Director of the Winchester Regional Airport Authority in Winchester, Virginia. As the Airport Manager, he focused on the Airport’s daily operations, safety, security, expansion and development as well as the operations of the Airport’s publicly-owned and operated Fixed Base Operation (FBO). He received recognition in 1989 as Virginia’s Airport Manager of the Year.
In 1994, Ken was appointed Director of the Virginia Department of Aviation by two Virginia governors where he worked with a professional staff and a gubernatorial-appointed State Aviation Board to establish programs of financial assistance for commercial and GA airports. He was recognized for his work to improve airports and the National Air Transportation System by the Federal Aviation Administration in 1998.
From 2002 until his departure earlier this year, Ken served as the Airport Director and Executive Director of the McKinney Airport Development Corporation. His efforts resulted in completion of the largest single development project in Texas aviation history and the acquisition and organization of the Airport’s Fixed Base Operation, . In 2012, the combined efforts of citizen volunteers and Ken’s expertise in airport management resulted in the Airport’s designation as one of 84 National airports in in the nation. Ken was recognized as Texas Airport Manager of the Year in 2008.
Ken is an accredited member of the American Association of Airport Executives, holds a commercial pilot license with instrument ratings in helicopter and fixed wing aircraft, and earned a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He and his wife Donna have been married for 47 years; have two wonderful sons, two excellent daughters-in-law and 3 exceptional granddaughters.
