FAA Makes Plans to Open New Phoenix ADO

Word out of the FAA’s Western Pacific Region office is that the FAA is planning to establish a new Airports District Office (ADO)  in the Phoenix metropolitan area.  Initially, according to an FAA spokesperson, the office will provide funding, planning, and technical support to airports throughout  the State of Arizona. The FAA expects to open the office in late 2012 and it will initially report to the Los Angeles Airports District Office.  Once fully staffed, the Phoenix office will become a fully functioning ADO for airports located within the States of Arizona and Nevada. The time it takes to fully staff the office will depend on budget availability.
