An aviation leader with more than 15 years of experience in airport operations has been named the newest Assistant Aviation Director at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Sarah Demory, A.A.E., the current Airport Deputy Director for Operations and Security at the Boise, Idaho Airport, will join the City of Phoenix Aviation Department executive team as Assistant Aviation Director this fall. Prior to her current role in Boise, Demory held positions in operations and emergency management at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. She has extensive experience managing both airside and landside airport operations.
Demory has a commercial pilot license and is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE). She is also a AAAE Certified Member (C.M.), Certified Airport Security Coordinator, and Airport Certified Employee (ACE) – Operations.
Demory will join Director of Aviation Services Jim Bennett, Assistant Aviation Director Deborah Ostreicher and newly promoted Assistant Aviation Director Charlene Reynolds on the executive team at the City of Phoenix Aviation Department. The City of Phoenix owns and operates three airports: Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport; Phoenix Deer Valley Airport; and Phoenix Goodyear Airport. Demory will oversee the Operations, Public Safety/Security, and Facilities and Services divisions, along with Phoenix Deer Valley and Phoenix Goodyear airports.
“I am excited to build an executive management team with such a wealth of diverse experience,” said Director of Aviation Services, Jim Bennett, A.A.E. “With new international air service and increasing local passenger demand, it is vital that the Phoenix Aviation Department has executives like Sarah leading the way. Her experience in airport operations and emergency management provide the expertise that we need to complete our executive team and guide us into the future.”
