Wyoming Airport Director Resigns to Take Lincoln, Nebraska Job

david.jpg The director of aviation for the Cheyenne Regional Airport, David Haring, will leave in August to take a similar position as the airport director in Lincoln, Nebraska. Haring spent 13 years at the Wyoming airport, first as an intern and later moving up to assistant airport manager and then manager.

The Lincoln Airport Authority Board of Directors announced that Haring will begin his new position in September 2014, replacing current Executive Director John Wood, who recently announced plans to retire.

The selection committee was very impressed with Mr. Haring’s background and his enthusiasm for this position, according to John Hoppe, chairman of the Lincoln Airport Authority Board. “He will hit the ground running and help elevate the Lincoln Airport to new heights as an economic engine for the community.”

Haring will be responsible for the operation of all airport and aviation facilities. He will also oversee
development of Lincoln Air Park West, the industrial park operated by the Lincoln Airport Authority. He said he’s looking forward to leading the Lincoln Airport into the future. “The leadership and vision of the board and prior managers, along with dedicated airport employees, has made the Lincoln Airport a successful operation,” said Haring. “I look forward to continuing this tradition and I am excited about working with this top-notch aviation team.”

Haring earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota. He is a Certified Member (C.M.) with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and has been extensively involved in the Cheyenne community.
