The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission, in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota, presented two awards on March 4, 2014 at the 2014 Upper Midwest Aviation Symposium held in Grand Forks. Gwinner Municipal Airport received the ‘2013 General Aviation Airport of the Year’ and Grand Forks International Airport received the ‘2013 Commercial Service Airport of the Year.’ Tim Thorsen, President of the Airport Association of North Dakota, and Kyle Wanner, Interim Director of North Dakota Aeronautics Commission, presented the awards which recognize excellence in maintaining safety, project management and community awareness.
