Piper Adds South American Dealer in Chile

Vero Beach, Fla., Feb. 8, 2012 – Piper Aircraft, Inc. has named a distributor for its new airplane sales in Chile. Eagle South America S.A., located near Santiago at the Aérodromo de Chicureo and headed by General Manager Martin Andrés Busquets, will handle Piper sales in the South American country.

"With more than 350 airports and 6,435 km (3,999 miles) of coastline along the South Pacific Ocean, Chile is a welcoming country for the efficient line of Piper aircraft, which are well suited to its low coastal mountains, fertile central valley and the rugged Andes in the east," said Piper Head of Global Sales and Business Development Drew McEwen. "We welcome Eagle to the Piper family."

Busquets, Eagle general manager and partner, said, "Our modern 27,000-square-foot facility in Chicureo, just outside of Santiago, Chile, and our Chilean aviation specialists embrace the opportunities for growth by adding representation of the fine line of airplanes produced by Piper Aircraft." Chile has a solid market-oriented economy with much foreign trade, strong financial institutions and sound economic and political policies, Busquets noted.
