GIPPSAERO APPOINTS SUMMIT AVIATION AS AUTHORIZED AIRVAN DEALER IN U.S.

GippsAERO, the Australian manufacturing arm of Mahindra Aerospace, today announced Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, as an authorized dealer for the GA8 Airvan in the United States, with a particular focus on government and surveillance aircraft sales.

“Summit Aviation is one of the leading integrators of sophisticated surveillance systems and sensors into aircraft platforms,” said Terry Miles, CEO of GippsAERO.  “With over 50 years of experience in providing quality sales and service to private and government customers from their expansive facility in Middletown, Delaware, they are a natural fit for promoting and selling our surveillance GA8 model and the GA8 Astra.”

“We see the GA8 Astra as a tremendous opportunity to offer customers a surveillance platform that provides an unbeatable combination of utility and capacity coupled with operating costs that are a fraction of those available from alternative platforms,” said Ralph Kunz, General Manager of Summit Aviation.

Mr. Arvind Mehra, Executive Director and & CEO, Mahindra Aerospace said, “We are delighted to partner with Summit Aviation,  an industry leader in aircraft modification and maintenance technology. This appointment not only enhances our global dealer network but is also part of our long-term strategy to emerge as a global entity in the aircraft surveillance market.”

GippsAERO’s leading product, the GA8 Airvan, is a single-engine, piston powered aircraft, available in a normally-aspirated or turbocharged version. With outstanding performance and a spacious cabin, the aircraft is in operation across a broad range of demanding missions, including special missions and law enforcement. Certified to U.S. FAR23 Amendment 54/55, the Airvan is designed and built to the highest standard of structural integrity and flight handling characteristics.  The Airvan boasts a low noise footprint and low carbon emissions while being versatile, rugged, safe and far more economical than other surveillance platform options.
