Early Friday morning at a private airfield outside Dallas, Texas, Gulfstream’s highly anticipated G650 took off on the world’s first ever charter flight for the brand new business jet. The G650 is the fastest jet in the world (beating out the Citation X by 3mph at 704 mph) and is capable of non-stop flights from New York to Hong Kong. Priority One Jets, a New York based full-service private aviation company, was the first to broker the plane for a weekend retreat for one of their clients.
A limited number of the G650 have been delivered by Gulfstream this year to select customers. “We are constantly looking for the most outstanding aircraft in the world to match with our clients’ ever increasing expectations. When the G650 became available for charter, we knew we had to put it to use on one of our client flights immediately,” said Adam Petruccione, Board President of Priority One Jets.
Million Air Dallas, an operator of the G650, was pleased to offer the aircraft to Priority One Jets. Bob Schmidt, Director of Operations for the FBO, said the G650 is going to be an excellent offering to all of their clients.
The Gulfstream G650 is capable of speeds 30 kt. faster than the G550 and can fly 250 miles further. Gulfstream said it is the most technically advanced business jet in existence, with advanced digital flight controls such as the Enhanced Vision System (EVS) II, the Head-UP Display (HUD) II, and the Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display (SV-PFD). These advancements improve situational awareness for the crew and enhance safety for the aircraft and it’s passengers.
“We’re extremely excited to now have the ability to offer this incredible option to our clients. This jet truly transforms the private jet chartering experience and we couldn’t be more thrilled to have been able to provide the G650 to our client today,” stated Petruccione.
