Hundreds of Skiplane Lovers Gather in Oshkosh – Snow was a No-show

The Experimental Aircraft Association reported last week that hundreds of skiplane enthusiasts gathered at Pioneer Airport in Oshkosh for the annual Skiplane Fly-In, even though there wasn’t any snow. (Photo of Paul Poberezny courtesy of EAA)

EAA founder Paul Poberezny is fond of saying that EAA is more about people than airplanes. That was certainly evident at this year’s event. The only skiplane there was the EAA Young Eagles GlaStar Sportsman on display. Attendees did however, enjoy hot chili, good company and birthday cake for Audrey Poberezny, whose birthday was January 24, while kicking off a weeklong celebration of the organization’s 60th anniversary.
